Senior Game Economy Designer
Responsibilities
- Manage pricing of virtual goods and create a balance between free content and paid currency in the game economy;
- Develop economic models for the product as a whole and for its individual components using a data-driven approach;
- Provide recommendations on rewards and monetization mechanics;
- Advise on creating player segmentation strategies;
- Participate in designing and planning A/B testing systems;
- Contribute to decision-making when developing new features or modifying existing ones;
- Track and analyze key performance indicators to balance player experience with revenue from in-game currency and virtual goods;
- Create and run simulations and predictive models to forecast the impact of changes and optimize content balancing;
- Collaborate with product owners, marketing managers, customer support specialists, game designers, UX/UI designers, analysts, and development teams.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills;
- Knowledge of basic statistics and experience working with large data sets;
- Experience in a similar position in game economy, product, monetization, or analytics;
- Experience in building and using economic models;
- Experience with automation tools for modeling (e.g., Python, R, Apps Script);
- Experience with business analytics systems (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI);
- Flexible and creative problem-solving approach;
- A good understanding of video games and their internal economic systems would be an advantage;
- Experience in writing SQL queries would be a plus.
